women in docs are doing a FREE performance for Festival 2018 (during the Commonwealth Games) in Brisbane. We are playing on the Satellite Stage in the Cultural Forecourt (on the river lawn in front of QPAC) from 7.30pm-8.15pm. It’s FREE, family friendly and is only for 45 mins – so be there or miss out!

The whole concert starts with Sue Ray at 5pm and Danny Widdecombe at 6pm – so it will be an awesome evening of music!

women in docs are an upbeat songwriting duo from Queensland, Australia. They are known for their entertaining and funny concerts, poignant songwriting, and soaring harmonies. Their show is a little bit songwriter, a little bit cabaret, with lots of storytelling and laughs. They have toured around the world to the USA, Europe and China. Their music has been played on ABC Radio, Triple J and stations around Australia and the world. This is a rare show in Brisbane – catch them in October.

This concert is part of the 2016 West End Festival. West End Festival is a community led festival which celebrates and promotes the vibrant and diverse West End community across a range of platforms. This year’s week-long Festival will run between 22-29 October featuring highlights including the much loved Kurilpa Derby and Beggars Banquet.In Boundary and Russell Streets and an action-packed program of live music, arts, cultural and community events utilising a variety of spaces such as businesses, shops and venues.

THE WEST END SESSIONS is an alcohol-free listening room right in the heart of the cafe and bar district of West End, Brisbane (book for dinner before or after a show and support our local traders!). The music featured includes folk, acoustic, jazz and world music from around the world.

The concerts happen every few months, or in a short series, inside the West End Uniting Church, cnr Vulture & Sussex Sts, West End. Tickets range from $25-$50 and are available online.

Woodford Folk Festival 2015/16

The Woodford Folk Festival is held annually over six days and six nights from Dec 27th through to January 1st. More than 2000 performers and 438 events are programmed featuring local, national and international guests.

The festival programme features concerts, dances, street theatre, writers’ panels, film festival, comedy sessions, acoustic jams, social dialogue and debate, folk medicine, an entire children’s festival, an environmental programme featuring talks, debates and films, art and craft workshops, circus performances and workshops, late night cabarets, parades and special events including a spectacular fire event which closes the festival.

A new show from Roz

We are very proud of all of the work those in the women in docs’ camp do, both with the band and outside of it. And we want you to know about it!
